The SharePoint Product Group has announced (see link below) some of the fix's and new functionality that will be supported in the upcoming MOSS 2007/WSS 3.0 SP1 release. The one that is of most interest to me is the decision to support ASP.NET AJAX Web Parts within the MOSS/WSS framework. Although there were community efforts geared around "how to" articles to get this to work, it is great that the product team is building the support directly into the product, which means that Microsoft Support will stand behind the integration and therefore would be more likely to help you if you have any "issues" from a stability perspective.
