I just found this list of new add-ins for Windows Desktop Search. I like the add-ins, because they give me a finer degree of search filtering and capability within my Desktop Search. The Outlook “Saved Mail” (#3 on the list) is of most importance for me, but I figured I would list all 3, since some of you might have a different set of needs than I do.
1. Add-in files for Microsoft Networks:
Overview
This Protocol Handler indexes your shared network directories and FAT drive(s) allowing you to easily find your specific content.
By downloading this Add-in, you will have the ability to search your shared network directories and FAT drive(s) via selection in your Windows Desktop Search Advanced Options.
Note: No support for 64bit

2. Add-in for Internet Explorer History
Overview
This Add-in indexes the history of the web pages you have browsed using Internet Explorer.
By downloading this Add-in, your Internet Explorer History will be indexed by Windows Desktop Search when your PC is idle or when you select ‘Index Now’. Once the index is updated you can immediately search your Internet Explorer History.

3. Add-in for Outlook saved mail (.msg files)
Overview
This iFilter allows you to perform a search on all elements of your MSG (.MSG) files including Message Body; Subject; From; From Name; From Address; To Name; To Address; CC Name; CC Address; Doc Title Prefix; Sent Date; Received Date; Primary Date; Conversation ID; Attachment Names and will indicate if an attachment is present within the .MSG. Additionally, content within attachments are indexed and searched.
By downloading this iFilter, Outlook .MSG files will be indexed by Windows Desktop Search when your PC is idle, or when you select to ‘Index Now’. Once the index is updated you can immediately search your .MSG files.
