As an owner/user of a Quad-core machine (I run a lot of Virtual PC’s) and a .NET (Visual Studio) developer, I am starting to get really interested in Parallel programming. I should note, that I am one of those folks who look for the tools to help me so that I can be efficient with my time, since I am always looking at multiple new technologies, and don’t have a ton of time to play with technologies without tools-support.
I found this great MSDN Article on “Improved Support for Parallelism in The Next Version of Visual Studio”, referring to tool support for parallelism in Visual Studio 10 (the next version of Visual Studio).
It’s a quick read (about 3 pages printed) and worth a read to get an understanding of where we are going with this.
